Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Krishnopokkho’ in theatres now

To honour and reminise Humayun Ahmed’s works, Impress Telefilms Ltd, has hand picked one of his many legendary works, Krishnopokkho, which is to be in theatres from February 26.

Krishnopokkho is about the love between two siblings, Aro and Muhib. Muhib has to face the strict rules of his brother-in-law when he stays with his only sister Zeba. Struggling through all the dos and don’ts, the two siblings continue to live by the grace of love that they have for each other. At one point, Oru arrives in Muhib’s life as his love interest. He starts to dream of rebuilding a life with Oru.

The movie, directed by Meher Afroz Shaon, is based on the late author’s novel “Krishnopokkho.” Riaz, Mahia Mahi, Ferdous Ahmed, Azad Abul Kalam, Tania Ahmed, Jayanto Chattopadhyay, Tarik Swapan, Arfan Ahmed, Masud Akhond, Jhuna Chowdhury, and Joyita Moholanobish have starred in the movie among others.

Upon release from the Censor Board, Impress Telefilm arranged an inaugural ceremony for the theatrical release of the film at Balaka Cineworld on Saturday, February 13. The managing directors of Impress Telefilm, Faridur Reza Sagar, Meher Afroz Shaon, Riaz, Jayanto Chattopadhyay, Tania Ahmed, and singer SI Tutul were all present at the ceremony.

The movie will be released in different cinema halls across the country on February 26.

At the ceremony, Faridur Reza Sagar said: “We have been producing seasoned littérateur Humayun Ahmed’s films for a while now. This film is a continuation of our initiative. Humayun Ahmed’s work is so vast that the bulk of his work can never be depleted.”

Meher Afroz Shaon said: “Humayun Ahmed is not among us today. If he was here he would have been happy. Audience would love the film. If they like it, my hard work would pay off.”
