A senior Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) official has been threatened by an official of the South Asian Games (SAG) during their women's football match against the Maldives on Tuesday.
Ahsan Ahmed, head of the media division of the BFF, made the allegation at the post-match press conference, reports PTI.
He told the journalists that the incident occurred when he was walking towards the end of the goal-post where the Bangladeshi substitutes were warming up at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.
"He (SAG Official) used slang words and threatened to throw me out of the stadium," Ahsan said.
Later, Ahsan lodged a complaint with the chef de mission of Bangladesh, Ashikur Rahman Miku.
Ahsan said as per the rules, one official can be present on the ground when the players are warming up. "I am also an AFC (Asian Football Confederation) match commissioner. I know the rules of the game and who can be present on the ground when the players are warming up."
The Indian official wearing a SAG accreditation card with his name "Nicholas" also used abusive language to another women official who also went to the ground in his place, he added.
