Executed war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury's son Hummam Quader Chowdhury has said his father did not seek presidential clemency.
He made the statement at a press conference held at their residence in Raozan in Chittagong on Sunday morning.
Hummam said: “When I met my father for the last time he [Salauddin] told me that he will not bow down in front of anyone.
“You all know my father. Seeking forgiveness is not in his character traits."

Quoting Salauddin, he said: “There is no question of seeking clemency.”
“People are repeatedly saying my father had sought cemency but he didn't. It is untrue,” he added.
Meanwhile, Salauddin's brother Jalaluddin Quader Chowdhury: “He [Salauddin] told us if he had to seek mercy from someone it would be Allah and not any human being.”
Terming the executing as killing, Hummam said: “This is a murder and the people of Chittagong will not accept it. My father was innocent.”
He also continued to say that the political legacy of Salauddin will not stop here.

Meanwhile, the family members said another namaz-e-janaza will be held at Parade Ground in Chittagong's Chawk Bazar area around 4pm.
Earlier in the day, the executed war criminal was buried in their family graveyard in Raozan around 9:28am.
The BNP leader was hanged around 12:55am on Sunday for committing crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.
The six-time lawmaker was awarded death penalty on October 1, 2013 for committing crimes against humanity including genocide and torture of freedom fighters and Hindus in Chittagong’s Raozan area. The Appellate Division upheld his death sentence on July 29 this year.
