DU website hacked in protest of VAT on pvt varsity

A group of hackers have taken down the official website of Dhaka University, protesting the 7.5% VAT imposition on private universities.

The hackers who identified themselves as “Cyber 71” wrote on the website: “Some golden sons of Dhaka University have made the Language Movement, the mass-uprising on '69 a success. But why the student of the university are maintaining silence when the education is being turned into a business in the name of VAT imposition.

“Who gave the beasts [the law enforcers] the rights to open fire on the students? The shame is not only attached to the students of private universities but to all.”

“Roar Bangladesh in order to protect the education sector. #NoVatOnEducation,” added the hackers.

The site (http://www.du.ac.bd/) was found hacked around 8:30pm Thursday.
