Local authorities have confiscated the moveable properties of two absconding accused in 13-year-old Samiul Alam Rajon murder case.
Jalalabad police seized valuables available at the houses of main accused Kamrul Islam and his brother Shahim in village Sheikhpara under the Sadar upazila around 2pm Tuesday.
The properties include sofa sets, cots, mattresses, blankets and different types of furniture, reported BSS.
Earlier on Monday, the court of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate-1 Sahedul Karim ordered confiscation of the moveable properties of Kamrul, Shamim and Pavel.
Jalalabad OC Akhtar Hossain said the move has been taken in line with the court order issued on Monday.
Rajon, the ill-fated teenager, was tortured to death by a group of persons at Kumargaon on the outskirts of Sylhet city around 7:30am on July 8.
The accused filmed the torture of the boy.
A 28-minute video, recorded on a mobile phone camera, shows the victim tied to a pole in front of a workshop in the still-closed Sultan Ali Market, beside the Dhaka-Sunamganj road.
From the video, it seemed there were five to six men who took part in the barbaric torture.
One Muhit was caught red-handed while dumping Rajon's body on the day of the murder.
A murder case was filed in this connection by Jalalabad police, in which Rajon’s father later became a plaintiff.
Muhit was listed as the prime accused in the case, while his brother Kamrul Islam, 24, their accomplice Ali Haider, 34, and guard Moyna Miah, 45, were charged with murder as well.
Thirteen people have charge sheeted for their involvement with the gruesome murder.
