The met office has forecast rain or thundershowers in several places across Bangladesh.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely in many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, a few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chittagong divisions, and one or two places in Khulna and Barisal divisions, with moderately heavy to heavy falls in some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, reads a Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecast for 24 hours from 9am on Friday.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged, it says.
A trough of low lies over West Bengal to the northwest Bay across the southwestern part of Bangladesh. Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Chittagong, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions including the eastern part of Dhaka division, the BMD said.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon.
The highest temperature on Thursday was 36°C, recorded in Jessore, while Friday's lowest temperature was 22°C, logged in Saidpur, Nilphamari.
The highest for the 24 hours till 6am on Friday was 122mm in Sreemangal.
