A 42-year-old garage worker was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Dhaka-bound expressway in the Katherpul area of Jatrabari in the capital on Monday night.
The victim, Falu Mia, was struck in front of Mahabub Molla College and died on the spot.
After locals spotted the body and alerted police, Sub-Inspector Md Sajibur Rahman of Jatrabari police station recovered it. Following legal formalities, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 12:30am on Tuesday.
SI Sajibur Rahman said the vehicle involved in the accident had yet to be identified, and efforts were underway to trace it.
According to the victim’s relatives, Falu worked at a vehicle repair garage and was crossing the road on his way home after finishing work.
