A total of 33 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across industrial areas in Dhaka, Gazipur and Narayanganj amid ongoing workers' unrest.
The deployment aims to maintain law and order, strengthen security in industrial zones and prevent further incidents, the BGB said in a statement issued on Sunday morning.
In Dhaka, BGB personnel are deployed in Savar, Ashulia and Mirpur.
In Narayanganj, they are overseeing security in Shibu Market, Jalkuri, the BSCIC Industrial Estate, Chashara, Kanchpur and Shimrail.
In Gazipur, the deployment covers Chandra, Palli Bidyut, Mouchak, Ambag, Kashimpur, Naojor, Bhogra Bypass, Gacha and Salna.
The BGB headquarters' monitoring cell is also monitoring field operations and live footage through technology-based systems, according to the statement.
Deployed personnel remain on high alert and are working in coordination with local administrations and police.
The BGB said deployment and surveillance operations would continue to maintain a safe and stable working environment in industrial areas, protect lives and property, and ensure public security.
