The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has declared November 7 a general holiday for all garment factories across the country to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
The decision was announced in a notice issued by the association on Thursday.
Earlier, the Ministry of Public Administration, in a notification issued on October 21, declared November 7 a public holiday to mark the occasion, following a Cabinet decision.
The notification included the day in the list of annual public holidays, stating that November 7 would be observed as a general holiday every year.
At a Cabinet meeting on October 5, the government decided to observe November 7 as National Revolution and Solidarity Day and include it in Category A of the circular on the observance of national and international days.
In line with the government's decision, BGMEA has now announced a holiday for all garment factories nationwide.
