Gold prices have been cut by Tk3,266 per bhori in Bangladesh, just a day after the price was raised by Tk9,856.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new prices on Friday, effective from 10am.
Under the revised rates, 22-carat gold now costs Tk229,664 per bhori (11.664 grams), including VAT.
The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk219,342 per bhori, while 18-carat gold costs Tk188,374 and traditional-method gold Tk153,148.
BAJUS said the latest adjustment was made following a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market and considering the overall market situation.
On Thursday, BAJUS had raised the price of 22-carat gold to Tk232,930 per bhori. The price of 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional-method gold was also raised to Tk222,491, Tk191,056 and Tk156,064, respectively.
Silver prices remain unchanged. The price of 22-carat hallmarked silver is Tk420 per gram, while 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional-method silver cost Tk400, Tk345 and Tk260 per gram, respectively.
According to BAJUS, gold prices have been adjusted 99 times in 2026 so far. Prices have been raised 48 times, reduced 50 times and adjusted once due to VAT.
The latest rates came into effect across the country from Friday.
