The Parliament Secretariat on Wednesday organized a painting competition for children at the conference room of the North Plaza of the National Parliament, commemorating July Mass Uprising Day.
The theme of the competition was “July 24 Through the Brush," with children from schools in the capital taking part in two age groups: five to eight years and above eight to 12 years.
Shacot Ara Akter, MP, and Parliament Secretariat Secretary Barrister Md Golam Sorwar Bhuiyan visited the venue during the competition and interacted with the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Shacot Ara said July symbolizes inspiration and collective consciousness, adding that the children’s paintings vividly reflected the spirit and memories associated with the July movement.
Golam Sorwar said the artworks demonstrated how children perceive and understand the significance of July, expressing hope that such initiatives will help future generations learn more about the events and their historical importance.
Senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat were also present at the program.
