Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, on Tuesday received his first ceremonial salute and held his first official engagements at Bangabhaban after assuming charge.
He arrived at Bangabhaban around 11:15am, where a contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) welcomed him at the main gate and escorted him to the venue for the Guard of Honor.
A PGR contingent presented the Guard of Honor, while a combined military band comprising members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force played a welcome tune.
After the ceremony, President's Military Secretary Major General ASM Bahauddin, Public Division Secretary Khan Md Nurul Amin, Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam, and Assistant Military Secretary Brigadier General Mohammad Raisul Islam greeted the acting president with floral bouquets at the Octagonal of Bangabhaban.
Hafiz Uddin Ahmad later went to his office and exchanged greetings with senior officials.
The military secretary and the public division secretary briefed him on matters related to Bangabhaban during the meeting.
