The Ministry of Education today said reports published in various media outlets and on social media claiming that the government plans to establish a university in every parliamentary constituency are completely false, baseless, and misleading.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the ministry on Monday.
According to the release, the ministry's attention was drawn to a news report titled "Government plans to establish a university in every parliamentary constituency," published in various media outlets and shared on social media, quoting Education and Primary and Mass Education Adviser Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon.
Presenting the actual facts, the release said that at the program in question, the minister had stated, "Honorable Members of Parliament come with recommendations for establishing high schools, colleges, and universities in their respective areas. But they do not recommend primary schools." Which some news outlets presented improperly.
However, the minister, at the program, said, "A primary school will be established in every village of the country."
The Ministry of Education urged everyone not to be misled by such false reports.
