Bangladesh Railway has finalized the schedule for advance ticket sales ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha holidays, aiming to ease passenger pressure during the peak travel period.
According to railway authorities, Eid journey tickets will be available online from May 13. Return journey ticket sales will begin on May 21.
Under the schedule, tickets for May 23 travel will be sold on May 13. tickets for May 24 will be available on May 14, May 25 tickets on May 15, May 26 tickets on May 16, and May 27 tickets on May 17.
Return journey tickets will be issued starting May 21. On that day, tickets for May 31 will go on sale. Tickets for June 1 will be available on May 22, June 2 on May 23, June 3 on May 24, and June 4 on May 25.
The railway directive states that each passenger will be allowed to purchase one ticket each for the onward and return journeys, with a maximum of four tickets per transaction. Advance and return tickets will not be refundable under any circumstances.
On the day of travel, 25 percent of general seats will be sold as standing tickets at station counters. Return journey tickets will be issued daily from 8:00 am following the prescribed schedule.
