The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a fresh increase in jet fuel prices, raising the cost by approximately Tk 25 per litre.
The new rates will come into effect from Tuesday midnight, according to an official notification.
This marks the second hike in recent weeks. On March 24, BERC raised jet fuel prices by Tk 90 per litre.
Under the revised pricing structure, jet fuel for domestic flights will now be sold at Tk 227.08 per litre, up from the previous Tk 202.29 per litre.
Prices for international flights have also been increased significantly. The rate per litre has risen from $1.3216 to $1.4806. Prior to the March adjustment, the price stood at $0.7384 per litre.
BERC stated that the latest adjustment reflects prevailing market conditions, higher import costs, and efforts to align domestic fuel prices with international markets. The new rates will remain in effect until further notice.
