Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers in seven divisions of the country on Tuesday, while other areas are likely to experience partly cloudy skies.
According to the Met Office, an extension of a low-pressure area lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas in India.
The seasonal low persists over the South Bay of Bengal, with its extension stretching to the northeastern Bay.
Under the influence of this synoptic condition, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning may occur at one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions until Tuesday evening.
Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.
The BMD also said that day and night temperatures across the country may remain nearly unchanged.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days, the Met Office added.
