Gold price drops again

Gold prices have been reduced again in the country’s market.

Considering the recent decline in the price of refined (pure) gold in the local market, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has reduced the price of good-quality 22-carat gold by Tk1,364 per bhori.

Under the new pricing, the price of gold now stands at Tk2,06,908 per bhori.

Bajus stated that the new price was set at a meeting of its Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Tuesday.

The decision was announced through a notice signed by the committee’s Chairman, Masudur Rahman.

According to the decision, the new prices will take effect from Wednesday.

In a statement, Bajus said that gold prices have been reduced as an adjustment due to the recent fall in the price of refined gold in both the international and local markets. They expect this reduction to provide some relief to consumers.
