Operation Devil Hunt: Another 532 arrested

A total of 1,583 individuals were arrested across the country on Tuesday night and within the next 24 hours, in connection with various criminal offenses.

Among them, 532 individuals were apprehended during Operation Devil Hunt, while 1,051 others were arrested based on other cases and warrants.

With this, the total number of arrests under Operation Devil Hunt has reached 6,357.

In the evening of Wednesday, Inamul Haque Sagar, the assistant inspector general (Media and PR) of the Police Headquarters, shared this information.

He said that during the arrests on Tuesday night, law enforcement agencies seized a foreign pistol, a magazine, a steel machete, two Burmese knives and a rusty steel knife.

On February 7, an attack occurred on students and civilians in Gazipur, resulting in several casualties.

One of the injured, Kashim Khan, later died while undergoing treatment.

Following the attack, a high-level meeting was held with senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, law enforcement agencies and other security forces to strengthen the country’s security system.

As part of the initiative, Operation Devil Hunt commenced on February 8.

Sources from law enforcement have stated that this operation will continue, with efforts to bring the criminals swiftly to justice.
