The United States Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, has scrapped a $29 million grant aimed at strengthening Bangladesh's political landscape.
As part of its latest cost-cutting measures, DOGE has axed funding for 17 projects, including one in Bangladesh.
In a post on X, DOGE listed the discontinued projects, which include a $21 million voter turnout initiative in India, $47 million for improving learning outcomes in Asia, and $39 million for fiscal federalism and biodiversity conservation in Nepal.
Funding cuts also affected projects in Mozambique, Cambodia, Serbia, Liberia, Mali, Kosovo Roma, Ashkali, and Egypt.
US President Donald Trump tasked DOGE with reducing spending across various departments and agencies.
