Primary school students to get 76 holidays in 2025

The holiday schedule for government primary schools in 2025 has been released.

According to the new list, schools will remain closed for a total of 76 days, excluding the weekly holidays.

The announcement came through a circular signed by Md Mirajul Islam, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, on Monday.

As per the schedule, the holiday for Ramadan will begin on March 2. Combining holidays for Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Jumu'atul Wida, and Independence Day, schools will remain closed for 28 consecutive days.

Classes will resume on April 8 after this extended break.

There will also be a 14-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha and the summer vacation, starting on June 3 and continuing until June 22.

Additionally, a seven-day break has been allocated for Durga Puja, which will include other religious holidays such as Lakshmi Puja and Fateha-e-Yazdaham.

Furthermore, like every year, three reserved holidays will be at the discretion of the school head, to be used as needed. Schools will also observe holidays for various national and international days and religious events as per standard practice.
