47th BCS application process suspended

Although applications for the 47th BCS exam were set to begin on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has suspended the process.

On Monday, BPSC Public Relations Officer SM Matiur Rahman announced the suspension but did not provide further details about the online application process.

The 47th BCS circular was issued by the BPSC on November 28, and applications were scheduled to start online at 10:00am on Tuesday.

However, the application process was halted the day before.

The circular initially set the application fee at Tk700 for general candidates and Tk100 for candidates from ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and third-gender individuals.

However, the government later revised the fee for these groups to Tk200.

According to the circular, the preliminary exam for the 47th BCS is likely to be held in May next year.

Specific dates, times, and instructions for the exam will be announced on the commission’s website and through media outlets in due course.

Candidates aged between 21 and 32 years are eligible to apply for the 47th BCS exam.

The preliminary exam will consist of 200 marks in the MCQ format, with a duration of two hours.

Candidates will earn one mark for each correct answer, while 0.50 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The written exams for the 47th BCS will be conducted in eight divisional cities, while the oral exams will take place at the commission's headquarters.

Requests to change the exam center will not be entertained.
