Signal three at maritime ports

The Met Office issued the warnings to the country’s four maritime ports – Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Mongla and Payra – as a monsoon depression has formed in the Bay of Bengal on Saturday. Duty Meteorological Officer Ruhul Kuddus said: “Dhaka will be experiencing heavy rainfall throughout today [Sunday] and the coastal areas will experience heavy rainfall along with storm.” He said the situation is likely to change on Monday. The Met Office also advised all fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay to anchor close to the coast until further notice.
