The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has ordered the suspension of the bank accounts of Mozammel Haque Babu, former managing director of Ekattor TV, his wife Aparajita Haque, and their daughter Shababa Ishayat Haque.
Additionally, the suspension has been extended to the accounts of their privately owned enterprises for the next 30 days.
This directive was issued in a letter on Monday.
The directive stated that all relevant information or documents concerning the suspended accounts must be submitted to the BFIU within two working days from the date of the letter.
On September 16, Mozammel Haque Babu was detained along a border in Mymensingh while attempting to flee to India.
He was later shown arrested and taken into remand in connection with two murder cases.
