Police have recovered the bodies of three people, including a housewife and an elderly man, from different places of Nawabganj Upazila.
The recoveries were made between 12 noon and 3pm on Monday.
The identities of two of the three were confirmed by the police.
Of the duo, one is Abdul Hamid, 80, from Sinhara village of the upazila. He died after consuming toilet cleaner. Police recovered his body around noon after receiving the information. He was later buried in the area.
The body of Samia Akter, 17, was found hanging from a rented house in Sadapur of Bandura Union of the upazila around 1am. She lived there with her husband.
Seeing Samia hanging, her father-in-law reported the incident to the police, and the law enforcers recovered the body. Later, it was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the body of a young man was recovered from Tikarpur Bill of the upazila around 3pm. But his identity could not be known.
Mominul Islam, officer-in-charge of Nawabganj police station, said the half-melted body of the young man was recovered after receiving information in the afternoon. It is believed that someone left the body there after killing him. He had marks of injuries on the body, he added.
