Anusha Chowdhury, co-founder and president of Let’s Talk Mental Health (LTMH), has represented Bangladesh at the 2024 One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada, as a Z Zurich Foundation Scholar.
This recognition highlights Anusha’s dedication to advancing mental health awareness and her leadership in driving social impact, said a statement on Sunday.
The One Young World Summit, held from September 18 to 21, 2024, brought together over 2,000 young leaders from more than 190 countries.
It provided a global platform for participants to accelerate their social impact efforts through speeches, panels, networking, and mentorship with global leaders, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Queen Raina of Jordan, Noble Peace Prize Laureate Maria Ressa and Yemeni Journalist and politician, Tawakkol Karman.
As part of a cohort of Z Zurich Foundation Scholars, Anusha joined fellow young leaders working on initiatives focused on mental well-being, climate resilience, and social equity.
The scholarship, in collaboration with One Young World, empowered these changemakers by providing the education, skills, and resources necessary to amplify their efforts.
Reflecting on her experience at the summit, Anusha said: “Attending the One Young World Summit has deepened my commitment to breaking the silence surrounding mental health."
Gary Shaughnessy, chair of the Z Zurich Foundation, praised the impact of scholars like Anusha, stating: “The One Young World delegates, including our Z Zurich Foundation Scholars, are future leaders with the power to inspire change globally. Supporting their initiatives is integral to our mission.”
