BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) organized a human chain on Monday.
The human chain was organized to prevent the eviction of populated settlements, including the construction site of a university playground, academic buildings, local mosques, madrasas, and cemeteries, all threatened by the proposed construction of sewage treatment plants.
The protest was led by Prof Dr Eng Ayub Nabi Khan, pro-vice-chancellor, BUFT.
Speakers called on authorities to prioritize environmental protection and reconsider the project, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a harmonious balance between development and nature to ensure a healthy living and educational environment.
