Rainfall continued in various parts of Bangladesh, including the capital Dhaka, for the second day in a row on Thursday, causing significant disruption to public life.
The rain brought relief from the heat but also made life harder for the working-class people of Dhaka.
Daily wage earners, like rickshaw pullers, found it difficult to do their jobs in such weather.
Likewise, office-goers and students also faced challenges during their morning commute.
The rain caused a shortage of public transportation, while waterlogged streets in narrow alleys worsened traffic congestion.
Over 24 hours until 6am, the highest rainfall was recorded in Kumarkhali, Kushtia, at 104 millimetres. Meanwhile, Dhaka saw 44mm of rain.
Meteorologist Abdur Rahman said there would be intermittent rain throughout the day in various parts of the country. However, rainfall might significantly decrease by Friday, he added.
