A case has been filed against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s security adviser Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique
and nine others on charges of the kidnapping, enforced disappearance, and a conspiracy to murder the chief of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's personal security team.
Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Md Touhidul Islam Chowdhury on Thursday submitted a CR case to the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain.
The court later instructed the Newmarket police station to register the complaint as an FIR after recording the plaintiff's statement.
Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder confirmed this information on behalf of the plaintiff.
The other accused in the case include former DG of DGFI Major General (retd) Md Saiful Abedin, sacked RAB chief Major General Ziaul Ahsan and others.
The case alleges that on December 27, 2018, Md Touhidul Islam Chowdhury was abducted from his residence on Elephant Road by individuals in plain clothes.
After being held incommunicado for two days, he was falsely implicated in two cases and sent to prison on December 29.
Although he later received bail and attempted to report the matter to the police, his complaint was not registered as a General Diary (GD).
