Engineer Md Rezaul Karim will take charge as the 39th Chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Sunday.
Prior to joining the current position, he served as a distribution member of BPDB. He was appointed chairman of the BPDB board through a notification issued by the Power Division on August 22.
Engineer Md Rezaul Karim replaced the former chairman Engineer Md Mahbubur Rahman.
Md Rezaul Karim was born on June 7, 1967 in Bogra district. He obtained B.Sc., Engineering (Electrical) degree from Khulna University of Engineering (KUET) in 1989 and started his career by joining the board as an assistant engineer at the Khulna Power Plant on 17 August 1991. He diligently served as sub-divisional engineer, executive engineer and manager (superintending engineer) in the same power plant.
Also in April 2018 he was appointed as deputy project directorof Maitri Super Thermal Power Plant. He also served as additional chief engineer and chief engineer, of South Zone Distribution of BPDB.
He traveled to various countries including Czech Republic, China, United Arab Emirates, India, America and Australia for training and professional work.
He is married and the father of a son and a daughter.
