Bangladesh Hindu Bouddha Christian Oikya Parishad has strongly condemned and protested the demolition of the ancestral home of renowned filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak in Miapara area of Rajshahi in the recent communal violence.
In a statement of the organization, it is said that this incident is a key example of the attempt to destroy the tradition and culture of Bengal and Bangalee.
The Oikya Parishad has demanded immediate implementation of the assurance given to film and culture workers by the administration to build a complex in his name at the place of Ritwik Ghatak's house.
It also demanded to identify and arrest those involved in the incident and to ensure their punishment.
The ancestral home of legendary Bengali filmmaker Ritwik Kumar Ghatak in Rajshahi has been reduced to rubble which sparked outrage among local residents and cultural activists.
