BFIU freezes bank accounts of Arafat, Saifuzzaman

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has asked all banks to freeze the accounts of former state minister for information and broadcasting, Mohammad A Arafat and former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed. 

BFIU has also asked to freeze the accounts of their wives. 

The directive was sent to all banks on Monday.

On Sunday, BFIU instructed all banks in the country to freeze the accounts of former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud and his family members.

Hasan was detained at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) while attempting to flee the country on August 6.
