Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) has banned politics for students, teachers, and staff.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the university syndicate on Sunday.
Registrar Anisur Rahman Bhuiyan said in a notification that according to the university law, involvement and activities in political organizations and their affiliate bodies for teachers, officers, and staff have been declared prohibited.
Similarly, the involvement and activities of students in political organizations have also been banned.
Earlier in the day, teachers held a procession and protest rally on the campus demanding the resignation of Vice Chancellor Prof Mihir Ranjan Halder and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Sobhan Miah.
