16 crude bombs recovered from Kalyanpur flat

Police have recovered 16 crude bombs from a flat in Mizan Tower of Kalyanpur in the capital.

A team of police from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) raided the flat and recovered the bombs.

DMP Mirpur Division Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Masuk Mia informed this information.

He said: "Based on secret information, a bomb-like object was found in a flat after raiding Mizan Tower. Later, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) was informed. They recovered 16 fresh crude bombs from there.”

Bomb disposal unit of CTTC defused the bombs in the empty grounds of Kalyanpur Girls School.

The police official said: "No one has been arrested or detained in this incident."

Everyone ran away after realizing the raid. However, the investigation is continuing in this regard.

In this regard, Mishuk Chakma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of DMP's CTTC Unit said that16 bombs were found in the flat in Kalyanpur.

The bombs were defused on a school ground next to the incident site.
