After completing the sacred Hajj pilgrimage, a total of 14,816 pilgrims have returned to the country.
Starting on Thursday, flights bringing back the pilgrims began arriving.
From then until 2:30am on Tuesday, a total of 38 return flights brought these pilgrims back to Bangladesh.
The final flight carrying these pilgrims is expected to arrive on July 22.
According to the Hajj Management Portal of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Tuesday, the number of pilgrims returning on a total of 38 return flights so far is known.
Among these, Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 10 flights, Saudi Airlines operated 13 flights, and FlyNas operated 15 flights.
Further information from the portal reveals that this year, 47 Bangladeshi pilgrims have passed away while performing Hajj.
Among them, 36 were men and 11 were women. Of these deceased pilgrims, 36 died in Mecca, four in Madinah, one in Jeddah, and six in Mina.
In 2024, a total of 85,257 pilgrims travelled to Saudi Arabia for Hajj under both government and non-government arrangements.
Of these, 4,562 pilgrims travelled under government management, and 80,695 pilgrims under non-government management.
From Bangladesh, a total of 218 flights reached Saudi Arabia, according to information from the Hajj Management Portal.
