Trains bound for western districts from Dhaka will not make stopover at Dhaka Airport Railway Station during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
The authorities have taken this decision to maintain train timings and resolve schedule disruptions.
This information is known from the work plan taken by Bangladesh Railway on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
According to the action plan, from the start of the Eid journey on Wednesday to the day before Eid, no train from the western region to Dhaka will have a stopover at the Dhaka airport station.
Besides, Sundarban, Madhumati, Benapole Express, Nakshi Katha and Chandana commuter trains will start journeys from the Dhaka Railway Station.
To facilitate the travel of ticket holders, no tickets will be issued for inter-zonal intercity trains from Joydebpur and airport station to Dhaka and from Dhaka station to airport and Joydebpur from Wednesday to before Eid.
On the occasion of Eid, ten days before Eid and ten days after Eid, saloon coaches will not be added to the train.
To prevent passengers without tickets, round-the-clock vigil will be arranged with the cooperation of lawenforcers at all major stations including Dhaka, airport, Joydebpur, Chittagong, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna.
Besides, mobile courts will be conducted with the help of district administrators.
The activities of railway police and employees will be strengthened in moving trains, stations or railway lines to prevent vandalism.
Besides, with the active cooperation of RAB, BGB, local police and other law enforcement forces, the saboteurs will be strictly suppressed.
