Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul Islam has been reappointed as the chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for another four-year term.
His reappointment was confirmed in a circular issued by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday.
The circular states that Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam has been reappointed for another four-year term, starting from either May 17, 2024, or the date he assumes his duties, in accordance with Section 5(6) of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Act, 1993.
He is the former chairman and dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka.
He is also the treasurer of Dhaka University Central Students' Union.
