There is increased traffic pressure on the Munshiganj side of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Expressway ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Despite toll collection operating smoothly at seven booths on Padma Bridge, there is congestion of vehicles in the area.
Additionally, a significant number of motorcycles have been observed on the highway since Tuesday morning.
Amirul Haider Chowdhury, the Additional Director of the Padma Bridge Site Office, said that the volume of vehicles on the highway surged from Monday night onwards. As a result of the heightened traffic, vehicles experienced some delays at the toll plaza starting from Tuesday morning.
Nevertheless, the journey for Eid this year on the highway is smooth, he added.
