Met office warns of isolated hailstorms

Rainfall is likely at one or two places in three divisions with hails at isolated places in the 24 hours from 9am on Monday.

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are expected to occur at one or two places in Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places, according to a met office bulletin.

The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies elsewhere.

The trough of the westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while the seasonal low lies over South Bay.

A mild heat wave is sweeping across the regions of Rajshahi and Pabna, and it may spread.

Day temperatures may rise slightly and night temperatures may fall a little.

The highest temperature on Sunday was 37.2 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and the lowest temperature on Monday was 20 degrees in Sylhet.

The highest rainfall for the 24 hours till 6am on Sunday was 88 millimetres in Sylhet.
