Fire Service and Civil Defence officials along with Dhaka South City Corporation Executive Magistrate Jahangir Alam have sealed off the Nightingale View building in the capital’s Khilgaon area due to fire safety risk.
The building was sealed off at around 12pm on Tuesday.
Learning about the raid, most of the restaurants inside the building were seen closed and no employees were present there.
Only one restaurant, Shawarma King, was open.
After the drive, Executive Magistrate Jahangir Alam said they inspected every floor of the building, including the roof.
The building is highly vulnerable, so it was sealed off, he added.
Earlier, on Monday, a mobile court of DSCC sealed off the 11-storey building named Keari Crescent Tower located in Dhanmondi.
Besides, the mobile court fined Tk6 lakh to four establishments of Keari Crescent and Rupayan ZR Plaza.
Following the Bailey Road fire incident, which resulted in the deaths of 46 people, police and various agencies have started raids in different areas of Dhaka.
Along with the police, city corporations and Rajuk, are also conducting raids against unauthorized restaurants in the capital.
