A fresh batch of 136 Bangladeshi citizens returned home from the Benghazi Detention Centre in Tripoli, Libya on Thursday.
The Bangladesh embassy and the International Organization for Migration assisted the repatriation process.
On arrival at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, the Bangladeshi citizens were welcomed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the IOM officials.
The IOM gave each of them Tk6,058 and some food items.
Director (Welfare) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mostofa Jamil Khan said that immigrants can be an example in raising awareness so that no one else wastes money, falls victim to brokers, or travels abroad illegally.
Earlier, 143 Bangladeshis were brought back to Bangladesh on November 28, some 110 on November 30 and 145 on December 6.
A total of 534 people have been brought to Bangladesh in November and December this year.
