Metro rail services were suspended for approximately 40 minutes after a driver fell ill.
The service on the Agargaon-bound metro rail stopped at Pallabi station around 4pm on Thursday.
Later, at around 4:40pm, the services resumed after another driver took charge.
According to commuters on the metro rail, the train was en route from Uttara South to Agargaon at 4pm, when it began to decelerate and eventually came to a halt.
Around 4:10pm, an announcement was made, informing passengers of a delay in the trip.
Several metro rail officials, requesting anonymity, said each train has one driver. Hence, when the driver of the train was taken for treatment, another driver was dispatched from the depot to take over, resulting in the delay.
