Passengers dissatisfied as Biman’s Dhaka-Narita flight faces 12-hour delay

Passengers have expressed their dissatisfaction after a Japan-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight was delayed for nearly 12 hours from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Originally scheduled to take off at 11:45pm on Monday, the flight had 76 passengers on board.

Tahera Khondoker, a spokesperson for Biman, told Dhaka Tribune, that the delay was due to a technical issue.

Subsequently, the same aircraft after its technical glitch was fixed, transported the passengers after 11am on Tuesday, she said

Meanwhile, the passengers have alleged that the flight may have been delayed due to various reasons, including mechanical malfunctions.

Informing passengers in advance about flight delays are international standard, but Biman Bangladesh Airlines failed to maintain it, passengers said.

Following the originally scheduled departure time, Biman authorities announced the flight to be cancelled.

When the passengers expressed their anger at the airport, they were moved to various hotels in Dhaka under Biman’s management.
