Bangladesh Association of Nutritionist and Dietician for Social Service (ANDSS), the largest organization of clinical nutritionists in the country, celebrated its fifth anniversary on Friday.
On the occasion, they conferred the “Life Achievement Award” to Akterunnahar Alo, former chief nutritionist of the Birdem Hospital.
Prof Subhagata Choudhury, former director of Lab Services of Birdem, and Member of the Parliament Shabnam Jahan were present as the guests.
ANDSS President Samsunnahar Mohua, General Secretary Tamanna Chowdhury, and Associate General Secretary Chowdhury Tasneem Hasin spoke from the association.
Prof Choudhury hoped that the association would continue to play an “important role” in the improvement of the clinical dietetics sector, not only for the country but also for the world.
Shobnom Jahan urged them to work for the improvement of the nutrition of underprivileged children.
She also called upon the association to work for implementing the vision of ‘Smart Bangladesh’ and assured her cooperation for the organization.
A cultural program and cake cutting also marked the program held at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro.
