Bangladesh artist Hasura Akther Rumky’s solo painting exhibition in Japan

A solo painting exhibition of Bangladeshi artist Hasura Akther Rumky has been inaugurated at Kahal Gallery in Japan.

The exhibition titled “Silent Horizons: Embracing the beauty within" by Artist Hasura Akther Rumky was inaugurated on August 27 and will continue till September 2, according to a media statement. 

Shahabuddin Ahmed, ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan, was present at the program. 

Hasura Akther Rumky completed both her BFA (honours) and MFA from the Department of Oriental Art, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka.

People are the main subject of Hasura Akther Rumky's paintings. 

The artist is proficient in the use of pastel, acrylic, charcoal, and ether materials, and attempts to connect with the "invisible realm" beyond form. In her painting, there is illusion, silence, emotions and longing for human connection. Rumky's works are largely inspired by her emotional experience.

Rumky has so far participated in a number of group art exhibitions, workshops, art camps, projects, residencies and solo exhibitions held both at home and abroad.

The exhibition will be open to everyone from 10am to 6pm.
