Indian envoy pays respect to Bangabandhu on National Mourning Day

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pranay Verma paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the National Mourning Day on Tuesday.

The Indian High Commission said on Wednesday that he paid respect along with his spouse Manu Verma by placing a floral wreath at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi 32.

This year National Mourning Day marks the 48th death anniversary of Bangabandhu.

He was assassinated along with most of his family members on the fateful night of August 15, 1975.

His daughters Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana survived as they were abroad then.
