The government has slashed the prices of soybean oil and sugar.
The price of soybean oil has been reduced by TK5 to Tk174 per litre while the price of sugar by Tk5 to Tk135.
The new prices will be effective from Monday.
The Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association came up with the decision of reducing sugar price in a press release issued on Sunday.
The revised prices put loose soybean oil at Tk154 per litre.
Besides, the price of a five-litre bottle dropped to Tk850 from Tk873.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Sugar Refiners Association said in a notification on Sunday, that the new price of loose sugar per kg has been fixed at Tk130 and the price of refined sugar has been fixed at Tk135 per kg.
