The price of top-quality gold in Bangladesh is set to surpass the Tk100,000 mark for the first time, as the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (Bajus) has declared another increase.
Every bhori of 22-carat gold is set to cost customers Tk100,777 from Friday, the trade organization announced on Thursday.
Bajus said as the price of pure gold has increased in the local market, it had to increase the rate.
According to the new rates, the price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk96,228, and 18-carat gold at Tk82,464.
Additionally, the traditional gold price has been set at Tk68,701.
Meanwhile, according to the category, the price of 22-carat silver is Tk1,715, and 21-carat is Tk1,633.
Additionally, the price of 18-carat silver is Tk1,400 and traditional silver is Tk1,050.
Bajus had last hiked the prices of gold on June 7.
