In preparation for the reopening of schools and colleges after the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, the government has issued five instructions to prevent the further spread of dengue.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued these directives in public interest.
Bipul Chandra Biswas, deputy director at the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, said: "These instructions were given to educational institutions on Thursday to prevent the spread of dengue in the country."
He emphasized that these guidelines are issued every year, but due to the dengue outbreak in Dhaka and other parts of the country this year, and considering the extended break educational institutions have had, they have reissued the directives.
It is essential for educational institutions to adhere to these measures upon reopening.
The instructions include regularly cleaning playgrounds and school buildings, ensuring the prompt removal of stagnant water from the premises, regular cleaning of flower tubs used for beautification, preventing water accumulation in potential breeding spots for Aedes mosquitoes, and educating students about preventive measures against dengue on a daily basis.
