Light to moderate rain with gusty wind likely over country

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places across the country with moderately heavy to heavy falls at many places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions.

The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends to the Northeast Bay.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over the North Bay. Deep convection is taking place over the North Bay.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 36° in the Rajshahi district and Friday's minimum temperature recorded at 25° jointly at Rangamati and Bandarban districts.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Friday was recorded 67 millimeters (mm) at Chandpur.
