Two cases were lodged under the Digital Security Act (DSA) for spreading false information and fabricated photo against Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on social media platform Facebook.
Former joint secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central committee Omar Faruk Shiblu and former organizing secretary of BCL Rangunia upazila unit Md Ali Shah filed the cases with Sutrapur police station in the capital, said a press release.

According to the cases, false information and fabricated photos of the minister eating food in an undisclosed location and time were posted and shared on Facebook from November 25 intending to tarnish his image.
The cases mentioned various links to the Facebook posts and called for immediate legal action against those who posted, shared and liked the post.
